About the role...

An exciting role exists for a highly motivated Behaviour Support Practitioner within our brand-new Royal Rehab LifeWorks service in Townsville.  This role involves being a key member of our multidisciplinary team and facilitating high quality, efficient and person-centered services to our customers.

 

In this role you will work with a range of stakeholders to ensure customers from diverse backgrounds, with complex support requirements are provided with the support and skills they need to participate in their community. Outcomes are achieved by working with NDIS participants and their communities to ensure customers receive tailored services that are individualised, and outcomes focused.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

Collaborating with a range of stakeholders within a positive behaviour support framework
Ensuring customers receive tailored services that are individualised, person centred & strength based in line with the values and principles of positive behaviour support.
Apply a customer centric model to develop, implement and review Individual Behaviour Support, plans and behaviour management strategies with customers, family, carers, and their service providers.
Conduct relevant therapeutic, functional assessment and data gathering with customers developing the resulting behaviour support plans.
Coach those implementing a behaviour support plan, involve the customer, carers and other relevant people in assessment and intervention.
Develops & implements new resources & activities to enhance the experience & outcomes of our customers.
Record accurate and timely notes & billing relating to activities & outcomes for customers.
Meet customer acquisition and clinical activity targets.

 
About you..
We seek a self-motivated, passionate, and energetic professional with the ability to engage with our customers.  You will be confident in your abilities to deliver supports to a complex customer base whilst focusing on achieving quality outcomes for our customers.

 

Essential Criteria:

Tertiary Allied Health Qualification - Social Work, OT, Psychology, Speech Therapy
Current peak body registration- AHPRA, AASW
NDIS Practitioner Status – Core or Proficient
Current understanding of NDIS positive behaviour support capability framework and ability to apply for core practitioner status.
Experience working with people with a disability who may have a range of complex and challenging behaviours
Demonstrated knowledge in the development and implementation of behavioural intervention strategies, risk management strategies and skills development plans
Strong written & verbal communication skills including the ability to develop interim and comprehensive behaviour support plans.
Working with children check (or willing to obtain)
Criminal history checks (3mths since applying)
Current driver’s license
NDIS Worker Screen (or willing to obtain one is essential)
