Sharing your time, energy and compassion makes a real difference to people who have experienced a life-changing event. Your volunteer support extends our capacity to do more for more people. Volunteering with Royal Rehab makes you part of our community and can give you new skills.

It can also have positive effects for obtaining paid work. Apart from giving you relevant skills for related industries, many employers consider volunteer work in job candidates as a clear statement of their community commitment and willing to do more than the minimum.

We welcome everyone who wants to make a difference, regardless of education, background or skills. Volunteer roles require police and working with children checks. The working with children check is to be coordinated by the individual applying to volunteer. We are happy to assist with these applications if required.

Short-term vacancies are rare and usually for events only.

We ask all volunteers to have a police check, reference and working with children check so we can meet our legal obligations regarding child protection, privacy, and confidentiality.

Royal Rehab will coordinate the police check and cover the associated costs.

The working with children check is to be coordinated by the individual applying to volunteer.

We are happy to assist with these applications if required.

The level of training and specialist skills required in a volunteer role depend on the specific tasks we agree to. You’ll be supported by the manager and volunteer coordinators, as well as other staff. You’re able to contact them should you need help.

We provide Certificates of Appreciation to our volunteers which document your contribution.
