About the role…
The positions we have available are based in our Breakthru unit, in our School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) program in Townsville in Qld, and Maroubra in NSW. This program supports young people who have NDIS funding, transition from school into the workplace.
The key focus of this role is to assist people in learning new skills and gain the confidence they need to find a job that they enjoy.
Day-to-day you will provide support:
- Exploring and understanding work opportunities and industries
- Guiding and improving people skills 1:1 and in group activities
- Understanding and navigating aspects of everyday life such as understanding public transport, organising time and managing finances
- Job hunting and on the job support
You will also complete a range of administration that is required to document a person’s progress, internal reports, and as required by the NDIS.
About you…
This wonderful opportunity is available immediately. It would suit someone who has experience supporting someone with a disability and who may be a bit of an organising and administration whiz! You are someone that can easily adapt your communication style to build relationships, and you don’t shy away from leading by example when it comes to advocating for a person’s skills or abilities when searching for work.
Your experience might include someone who: is wanting to take some time out from delivering complex or challenging essential services; has lived/living personal or family experience of disability that you’d like to turn into an office-based career; is looking for extra shifts to supplement current work or study; is from an administration, recruitment or support work background looking for experience in this area.
Whatever your situation, we are looking for people who are passionate about community connection, enjoy developing relationships with people and genuinely get excited to see others achieve.
The casual pay range on this role is between $40.25 -$43.92 per hour. Relevant certificates or qualifications with at least 12 months experience, attract the higher rate.
With a knowledgeable senior leadership team to guide you, along with a thorough induction and orientation, you will be supported to deliver amazing services to the community and develop your skills and career!
