About the role.. 

Are you passionate about empowering patients on their rehabilitation journey? An exciting opportunity awaits you at Royal Rehab Private Petersham! We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Exercise Physiologist to join our multidisciplinary Allied Health team, working within our Day Rehabilitation and Outpatient programs. We are seeking someone with casual or part time availability 1-2 days per week, including regular Monday availability.

As a key contributor to our team, you will have the chance to assess, plan, and implement personalised exercise interventions that align with our commitment to exceptional care. You may also have the opportunity to support other units, including our inpatient rehabilitation unit, providing a dynamic and fulfilling work experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessment and therapy provision for a mixed caseload of patients, including neurological patients.
  • Provide high quality, evidence-based Exercise Physiology (EP) services to patients to maximise function, performance of activities of daily living and participation in meaningful activities.
  • Provision of gym based and hydrotherapy services.
  • Case management and discharge planning for patients receiving Exercise Physiology input, including attendance at case conferences and goal setting.
  • Working collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary teams in all settings.

 

About you.. 

We are seeking a self-motivated and friendly individual with:

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in Exercise Physiology with current ESSA membership.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Sound time management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and professional growth and development.

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Postgraduate clinical Exercise Physiology experience.
  • Previous experience working within a private hospital or rehabilitation setting.
  • Previous experience working with neurological disorders including stroke and Parkinson’s Disease.
  • Previous experience in hydrotherapy.
  • Experience with staff, student or Allied Health Assistant supervision.
