About the role.. 

Join our Graduate Program at Royal Rehab LifeWorks for a unique therapy career kickstart. Stand out with our individualised program, limited to just 15 graduates nationally, offering onsite supervision and work shadowing.

Embrace a newly created Brisbane based graduate role, focusing on high-quality, person-centered Speech Pathology services.

The Graduate Program, starting January 2024, is now open for applications with immediate interviews.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with a range of stakeholders within a therapeutic support framework in to ensure clients with complex allied health support requirements are provided the support and skills they need manage to achieve their goals and improve their community participation.
  • Ensuring clients receive tailored Speech Therapy services that are individualised, person-centred  and strength based
  • Providing a high standard of service for clients with both communication needs and dysphagia management / mealtime management needs.
  • Working with a varied caseload of adult clients aged 16 years and over
  • Participating in ongoing professional development and staying up to date with latest research and treatment techniques
  • Conducting and completing relevant therapeutic reports, functional and therapy assessment and information gathering.

 

Also, consider a part-time Allied Health Assistant position for early experience and earning while studying.

Essential Criteria: 

  • Registered  with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Speech Therapy
  • Strong verbal communication skills including problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Strong commitment and professionalism to customer centred care
  • Highly motivated and a positive attitude
  • Passionate about Speech Pathology and making a positive difference.

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working with people with a disability who may have a range of complex and challenging support needs
  • Demonstrated ability to develop plans, practices, and procedures.
