About the role..

We are seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Registrar to join our Spinal Injury Unit on a full-time, 12-month basis. This accredited position with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) offers an exceptional opportunity to work within a dynamic and specialised team, providing high-quality care to individuals with spinal cord injuries. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation programs, aimed at optimising client outcomes. Medical supervision and guidance will be provided by a Staff Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine, offering valuable mentorship and support throughout your tenure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provision of day-to-day medical management for clients.
  • Provision of rehabilitation programs in collaboration with the rehabilitation team.
  • Participation in outpatient clinics.
  • Participation in team meetings and family interviews.
  • Provision of afterhours medical services for Centre clients.

 

About you..

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:

Essential Criteria: 

  • MB BS or equivalent and eligible for medical registration in NSW.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to liaise with and educate other health professionals, both individually and in a group setting.
  • Computer literacy.

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Participation in the training program of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.
  • The ability to assess and formulate treatment objectives in consultation with the rehabilitation team.
  • Current Driver’s license.
