About the role.. 

A fantastic role exists for a highly motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our LifeWorks service at our friendly Townsville location. This role will involve facilitating high quality, efficient and person-centred Occupational Therapy services for our clients to achieve social and economic participation in their community. This role is also accountable for supporting service development and clinical supervision within the Occupational Therapy Service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and collaborating with a range of stakeholders within a therapeutic support framework in to ensure clients with complex allied health support requirements are provided the support and skills they need manage to achieve their goals and improve their community participation.
  • Ensuring clients receive tailored OT services that are individualized, person-centred & strength based.
  • Applying a client centric model to develop, implement and review therapy needs and develop intervention plans and strategies with clients, family, carers, and their service providers.
  • Conducting and completing relevant therapeutic reports, functional and therapy assessment and information gathering.
  • Managing sensitive enquiries, specialist services and complex clients
  • Support new client acquisition and meet billable hours targets and supports.
  • Proactively identify and developing own clinical skills in areas of identified service/ professional needs and actively participating in personal development.
  •  Building and utilising collaborative partnerships to promote and enhance  the occupational therapy service at Royal Rehab Lifeworks
  • Supporting and developing less experienced team members.
  • Conducting clinical supervision with the identification of learning and development needs.
  • Working actively with the Allied Health Manager and other senior clinical team members to support the Royal Rehab LifeWorks allied health strategy and drive service growth and pillars
  • Actively promote and lead the  Royal Rehab LifeWorks service offerings and in particular the occupational therapy service

 

 

About you.. 

We seek a passionate Senior Occupational Therapist who is looking for a new challenge to support clients with their rehabilitation and independence goals . This is an opportunity for you to make a positive impact in our client lives and would suit someone who is client focussed and enthusiastic about making a difference.

Essential Criteria: 

  • Registered Occupational Therapist with AHPRA.
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience working with people with a disability who may have a range of complex and challenging support needs
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experiences in the development and implementation of occupational therapy assessment and intervention strategies in a disability context.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop plans, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience to provide support and supervision to other staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including problem solving and negotiation skills.
