About the role..

An exciting role exists for a highly motivated Senior Speech Pathologist to join our LifeWorks service in St Albans, Melbourne This is a newly created role to drive and establish our Speech pathology offering in North West Melbourne as part of a multidisciplinary team.  Supported by your local team leader and as part of a small national speech team we are looking for a passionate, motivated individual who wants to drive growth, high quality services and supervise junior staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring clients receive tailored Speech Therapy services that are individualised, person-centred and strength based in line with the values of our service delivery model.
  • Manages sensitive enquiries, specialist services and complex customers within the speech therapy service.
  • Support new client acquisition and meet billable hours targets and supports others in the team.
  • Record accurate and timely notes and billing relating to activities and outcomes for clients
  • Working with a varied caseload of adult clients aged 16 years and over
  • Develop and implement new resources and information for the Speech Therapy service to enhance client experiences and outcomes.
  • Builds and utilises collaborative partnerships to promote and enhance the LifeWorks and the Speech Therapy service.
  • Support and develop less experienced team members in the service through casebook management, planning and clinical supervision.
  • Works actively with the Allied Health Manager and other senior clinical team members to support our allied health strategy and drive service growth and pillars.
  • Actively promote all of our group service offerings and in particular the Speech Therapy service. This includes developing and maintaining networks with community services and specialised agencies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and staying up to date with latest research and treatment techniques

 

About you..

 

We are looking for a passionate Senior Speech Pathologist who is looking for a new challenge to support clients with their rehabilitation and independence goals . Essential Criteria:

  • Registration with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Speech Therapy
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experiences in the development and implementation of Speech assessment and intervention strategies in a disability context.
  • Experience working with clients who may have a range of complex and challenging support requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Strong commitment and professionalism to customer centred care
  • Highly motivated and a positive attitude
  • Working with children check (or willing to obtain)
  • Criminal history checks (3mths since applying)
  • Current driver’s license
  • NDIS Worker Screen (or willing to obtain one is essential)
