About the role..
Are you passionate about helping people achieve their recovery goals? We’re seeking a highly motivated Physiotherapy Assistant (AHA) to join our dynamic inpatient team, supporting adults on their rehabilitation journey following traumatic brain injury.
In this role, you’ll work closely with clients, their families, community services, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver goal-focused rehabilitation programs. You’ll gain hands-on experience contributing to both individual and group interventions across a variety of service models.
Working alongside our skilled Physiotherapists, you’ll have the opportunity to support clients under direct supervision or independently with indirect supervision, making a real difference in their progress while growing your skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting physiotherapists with transferring, standing and walking clients.
- Assisting clients with individual and group exercise programs.
- Assisting with and running aquatic physiotherapy sessions.
- Assisting with application and removal of plaster casts and splints.
- Cleaning/tidying of equipment and therapy areas.
- Administrative duties.
About you..
We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:
Essential Criteria:
- Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)
- Experience working with people with physical disabilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstration of effective teamwork
- Excellent time management and self-organisational skills
- Computer literacy
- Able to swim
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working with people with traumatic brain injuries
- Experience working with people with cognitive changes and/or behavioural changes
- Experience working in a hydrotherapy pool
