About the role..

Are you passionate about making a difference? Join our dynamic Spinal Injury Unit as an Allied Health Assistant (Physiotherapy). You’ll work closely with our dedicated Physiotherapists to support clients on their rehabilitation journeys. From assisting with transferring and walking clients, to supervising individual and group exercise programs in our state-of-the-art gym, beautiful outdoor spaces, and pool, every day will be an opportunity to empower recovery and inspire progress.

You’ll also play a vital role in maintaining a clean and organised therapy environment while contributing to essential administrative tasks. Whether providing direct support or working independently under supervision, you’ll be a key part of a team that prides itself on delivering exceptional care.

Please note: this is a full-time role and will not suit students who are currently enrolled in a university course.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting physiotherapists with transferring, standing and walking clients.
  • Assisting clients with individual and group exercise programs including hydrotherapy.
  • Carrying out basic mechanical adjustments to wheelchairs.
  • Cleaning, tidying and administrative duties.

 

About you..

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with:

Essential Criteria: 

  • Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in an inpatient rehabilitation setting including hydrotherapy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstration of effective teamwork.
  • Excellent time management and self-organisational skills.
  • Ability to swim confidently.
  • Ability to make basic alterations to wheelchairs.
  • Computer skills including word, excel and e-mail.

Desired Criteria:

  •  Experience working with people with spinal cord injuries.
